Emergencies, power outages and faults
If there is an immediate risk to life or property, call 000 now.
Power outages and faults
If your power has gone out, or there’s an electrical or natural gas fault or failure, you’ll need to contact your local electricity or gas distributor.
Your distributor is responsible for the supply of energy to your property, including the poles and wires, gas pipes and connections.
Your electricity or gas distributor details will depend on your area. You can find the 24-hour assistance number for your distributor at the top of your Simply Energy bill.
Don’t have your bill handy? The 24-hour emergency contact numbers for all electricity and gas distributors are listed below. Simply click on your state of residence to find your distributor details.
Gas emergencies or suspected leaks
If there is a gas fire at your property, move away from the affected area and call 000.
If you think there may be a gas leak at your property, do not turn on lights or electric appliances, and do not use landline or mobile phones. Never use a flame to look for a gas leak.
