Carbon neutral energy plans
We offer carbon neutral energy plans that can help offset the environmental impact from the energy power use. Offsetting your energy is not an add-on. For every tonne of emissions you make, we purchase one tonne of emission offsets in the form of certificates certified by Climate Active.

Delivering innovative energy solutions
Electric Vehicles (EV)
ENGIE has already delivered more than 100 electric vehicle (EV) charge points, to encourage mass EV adoption in Australia. Our retail business rewards our residential EV and plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) customers with a super off-peak discount and bonus charging.
Our generation activities
ENGIE is building its energy portfolio in Australia, with over 3,000 megawatts (MW) of energy under development through renewable and non-renewable sources such as wind, solar and industrial-scale batteries. Our ambitious plan will support Australia's transition to a cleaner and more reliable energy grid.
Wind Farms
Wind power plays an important role in the transition to renewable energy, helping us create a more reliable and efficient hybrid energy system. The combined generation capacity of our current and proposed Wind Farm projects could generate enough renewable energy to power up to 1.2 million average Australian homes.
Solar Farms
Solar farms are an excellent energy source, providing clean and renewable power. Building solar farms allows us to diversify our energy sources while decreasing our dependence on fossil fuels.

We proudly serve over 700,000 electricity and gas customers across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland.
Renewables
We are committed to developing large-scale renewable energy assets in wind, solar and battery storage to create a cleaner, more cost-effective energy grid.
Energy Solutions
We work hard to deliver innovative solutions and technology, such as the rollout of a rapid fast charging network of more than 100 public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, commuter car park charging, vehicle -to-grid charging, and electric bus charging.
Flexible generation
We generate 1000 megawatts (MW) of renewable and non-renewable energy to create greater grid stability in South Australia.
The Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project in Victoria converted Australia's first retired coal-fired power station into a utility-scale battery capable of storing 150 MWh of energy (which is the equivalent to one hour of energy generation from rooftop solar systems of 30,000 homes),and can quickly and cost-effectively respond to network and market demand.

What is ENGIE doing to achieve net zero emissions?
Globally, ENGIE is committed to decarbonisation, aiming to reach net zero by 2045. We aim to do this by reducing carbon emissions per kWh produced compared with benchmarks set in 2017, reducing emissions of products sold by at least 34%, and increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix.

What infrastructure is ENGIE invested in?
In Australia, ENGIE is focusing on diversifying its generation capacity and investing in renewable energy for the future. We have two operational wind farms in South Australia, and many more in development.
The Hazelwood Battery Energy Storage System forms part of ENGIE’s commitment to net zero by 2045. The battery’s innovative design and the site’s unique location provide the flexibility to scale up storage capacity quickly and cost-effectively to respond to network and market demand.

ENGIE has been driving innovation globally for almost two decades. We’ve been in Australia since 1996 as investors in power assets and retail energy services.
