Simply Energy provides service with SMILES

Simply Energy has been named the number one Victorian and South Australian utilities provider in the Australian Financial Review’s annual SMILES survey, published in their AFR Smart Investor magazine.

The award, given for exceptional customer service, is based on a national poll which asks Australians to rate how they’ve been treated throughout the year by various providers.

Simply Energy won the utilities category with an overall satisfaction rating of 67.2 per cent, beating all major utilities providers including Origin Energy.

"(Simply Energy) earned top spot thanks to the quality of its staff, clarity of information provided and speed with which problems were resolved," said the AFR Smart Investor editors.

The annual survey asks AFR Smart Investor readers to rate their service providers on value for money, the quality of customer service, the levels of fees and charges, and the features offered by products.

The scores are then calculated into a satisfaction percentage. A minimum number of responses are required and providers that don’t attract enough responses are not in the running for the highest score accolade.

"We pride ourselves on being customer-oriented and a bit left-of-centre in our attitude towards doing business. We’re absolutely delighted that our customers agree and have voted Simply Energy number one," said Simply Energy CEO Domenic Capomolla.

"We are a small player outmuscling the big guys at the moment and there is definitely more to come. We won’t be resting on our laurels, we want to continue batting above our average."
