  • Online Welcome Credit1. Up to $50 Online Welcome Credit - A $25 credit will be applied to the first Simply Energy electricity bill you receive after you accept this energy plan. A $25 credit will be applied to the first Simply Energy gas bill you receive after you accept this energy plan (if applicable). The credit(s) will only apply if you sign up to the energy plan online via the Simply Energy website. The credit(s) will be applied prior to GST and are not redeemable for cash.
  • Eligibility2.To be eligible for this offer you must be a residential customer in Victoria and a member of The Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Limited at the time you enter into the electricity contract or electricity and gas contract. Members of equivalent motoring organisations in other Australian States and Territories or other countries are eligible.
  • 3.You are not eligible for our offer unless we have market contract electricity rates and gas rates (if applicable) for domestic customers with your meter type in your distribution area. You must meet our creditworthiness and other eligibility criteria.
  • Pay On Time Discount4.The discount specified in the contract confirmation for paying on time (the “pay on time discount”) will be applied:
    1. in respect of those energy charges incurred for energy consumed during the billing period; and
    2. only to the usage component of your electricity rates; and
    3. only to the usage component of your gas rates (if applicable).
  • 5.You will be eligible for the pay on time discount in respect of a bill if payment of the full amount of charges specified on that bill is received by us on or before the pay-by date specified on the bill (note that payments made after business hours may not be received by us until the next business day and therefore may be ineligible for the pay on time discount). If the pay-by date is a weekend or a public holiday, payment must be received by us on or before the next business day.
  • Direct Debit6. If you agreed to set up a direct payment arrangement with us and agreed to our Direct Debit Payment Agreement at the time that you entered into the market contract with us:
    1. you will be eligible for the pay on time discount in respect of a bill if payment of that bill is actually made by direct debit or automatic payment from your credit card in accordance with our Direct Debit Payment Agreement. The amount that we debit from your nominated financial institution to pay your bill will be reduced by the amount of the direct debit discount;
    2. if you are making payment by automatic payment from your credit card you must make payment by Visa or MasterCard to be eligible for the pay on time discount; and
    3. you will not be entitled to the pay on time discount in respect of a bill (and we will not otherwise be responsible) if the direct debit or automatic payment from your credit card fails or is delayed because:
      1. you did not provide the Request for Automatic Payment form, and agree to our Automatic Payment Arrangement Conditions, within the 14 days before the next scheduled meter read date specified on your latest electricity bill;
      2. any of the details you have provided us are incorrect or incomplete; or
      3. there were insufficient clear funds or credit available in the nominated account to meet the Direct Debit Payment Agreement payment on the pay-by date.
  • Ebilling7. If you agreed to receive your electricity bills by email (ebilling) and you provided a valid email address at the time that you entered into the market contract with us:
    1. you will be eligible for the pay on time discount in respect of an electricity bill if we are actually able to send that electricity bill by email to the most recent email address you provided to us for the purposes of ebilling;
    2. you will not be entitled to the pay on time discount in respect of an electricity bill (and we will not otherwise be responsible) if:
      1. we receive an undeliverable message in relation to the electricity bill we have attempted to send to the most recent email address you provided to us for the purposes of ebilling, even if we are able to subsequently send that electricity bill to the email address or a different email address; or
      2. you request us to provide a copy of the electricity bill by post in addition to or in substitution for the electricity bill that we will send or have sent to you by email;
    3. it is your responsibility to ensure that you maintain a valid email address and whilst we may endeavour to contact you to obtain a new valid email address if we discover that your electricity bills have not been successfully delivered to the most recent email address you provided to us for the purposes of ebilling, you will not be entitled to the pay on time discount in respect of an electricity bill if we are not able to send an electricity bill by email even if we have not endeavoured to contact you to obtain a new valid email address; and
    4. you must advise us immediately of a new valid email address to which we can send your electricity bills if you cancel the email account for the most recent email address you provided to use for the purposes of ebilling.
  • General Conditions8. If you are not eligible for the pay on time discount in respect of a bill, but we apply that discount to your bill (for whatever reason), the amount of the pay on time discount will be debited to a subsequent bill.
  • 9. If you are eligible for the pay on time discount in respect of a bill, but you overpay the amount of that discount to us, that amount will be credited to your next bill. You will not be entitled to a refund of that amount before your next bill is issued.
  • 10. If your bill is based on an estimate of your energy consumption, the pay on time discount will be applied to the estimated consumption. If we subsequently receive an actual meter read, we will adjust the discount on the next bill accordingly.
  • 11.You will not be eligible for the pay on time discount if you are on a Fixed Instalment Plan at the time the relevant bill is issued.
  • 12.The pay on time discount will end at the end of your benefit period.
  • 13. No failure to exercise or delay in exercising any right, power or remedy by us operates as a waiver. A single or partial exercise of any right, power or remedy does not preclude any other or further exercise of that or any other right, power or remedy. A waiver is not valid or binding on us unless made in writing.
