Connecting power at your new property
When you move into a new home or business premises, you’ll need to ensure your electricity and/or gas is connected.
When you move with Simply Energy, we will contact the relevant energy distributor on your behalf.
Connection fees and charges
Energy distributors in each state charge a fee for connecting your energy. Fees are based on location, not your choice of energy retailer or provider (Simply Energy).
The connection fee will appear on the first Simply Energy bill for your new home or business premises.
Other fees and charges may apply if you:
- install a smart meter (when you install solar or upgrade your existing meter)
- disconnect your power when vacating a property
- request a special meter read.
Connection/disconnection charges vary by state. To find out what charges apply to you, visit our Connection fees and charges page and click on your state of residence.
