Hazelwood Battery Energy Storage System (HBESS)
Hazelwood is Australia's first retired coal-fired power station to host a utility-scale battery. The battery's innovative design and the site's unique location provide the flexibility to scale up storage capacity quickly and cost-effectively to respond to network and market demand. The Hazelwood battery can store up to 150 MWh of energy - equivalent to an hour of energy generation from the rooftop solar systems of 30,000 homes.
Dry Creek Battery
The proposed Dry Creek Battery Energy Storage System could deliver more electricity grid stability for South Australia. Once operational, the battery will store up to 140 MWh of electricity generation, equivalent to powering more than 10,000 average South Australian homes.
The Plains Renewable Energy Park
The Plains Renewable Energy Park aims to harness wind and solar energy to provide reliable, clean electricity for NSW's homes and businesses. The renewable energy park will include the construction of an integrated wind and solar farm and will operate alongside agricultural activities.
The project is also expected to include a Battery Energy Storage System with a capacity of up to 400 MW.
