Take the confusion out of reading your energy bill with this handy guide. We've added an explanation for each section of the bill to make it easier to understand. To start, simply click on your bill type below.

This is where you will find contact details for our Customer Care Team as well as the Faults and Emergencies number for your local distributor.
To assist with your enquiries, please have your customer and account numbers ready when you contact us. If you are on a Prompt Payment Discount offer we will display the amount due if the bill is paid by the due date as well as the amount payable if you pay after the due date. These amounts include GST and exclude any concessions or discount you may be eligible for. Your bills 'due date' will always be at least 12 business days from the date the bill is issued.
The person listed here is the primary account holder for this energy account.
This is the mailing address you have provided. We will use this for correspondence related to your account. It will not necessarily be the same as the energy supply address.
Your bill will reflect energy you have consumed during the Billing Period listed here. The Site Address listed is the address your energy is being supplied to. It will not necessarily be the same as your mailing address.

Your NMI is your National Meter Identification number for electricity. Every home and business has a unique number. This number is used to track your usage. (Your NMI is different to the number on your actual meter, however we can use both numbers to identify your property. On your gas bills a MIRN will be displayed here (Meter Installation Registration Number).
This is the anticipated date of your next meter reading. If you lock your meter away for security, remember this date so you can provide access for the meter reader around this time.
Here you can see if your meter is a basic or interval meter. If you're on a basic meter, your current and previous readings are listed. If you're on an interval meter, the start and end index reads for this billing period are listed above the table. You can also see how much energy you have consumed in kWhs (kilowatt hours).
Supply Charge is a fixed daily charge for having supply connected to your premise. This is calculated by multiplying the number of billable days by a daily rate.
This is where we will record ad hoc charges that may be applicable to your account such as request for special meter reads. These will appear under a separate heading "Other Charges".
A discounts section will appear on your bill if discounts are applicable to your account. If we have your concession details, itemised concession discounts will be shown here. If your plan has an applicable discount, or you have been given a credit, these will also be shown here.
This grey text will appear if you are on a Prompt Payment Discount offer. It shows the total for this bill if it is paid after the due date as well as the GST payable on this amount.

Your MIRN is your Meter Installation Registration Number for gas. Every home and business has a unique number. This number is used to track your usage. On your electricity bills a NMI will be displayed here (National Meter Identification number).
This area shows what kind of meter you have and how much gas you have consumed in MJs (megajoules).
