Energy Saver Incentive Scheme
The Energy Saver Incentive scheme is one of the first mandatory energy efficiency target schemes in Australia. The scheme is designed to help meet the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) and is a legislative requirement placed on energy retailers through the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007.
The Energy Saver Incentive scheme sets targets for energy savings and requires energy retailers to meet these targets by helping families reduce greenhouse gas emissions and cut energy bills at the same time. Energy retailers such as Simply Energy can meet these targets by providing households with energy saving products and services at little or no extra cost.
Simply Energy is promoting household energy efficiency by offering an Energy Efficiency Package to eligible customers, free of charge. This package is made available through our specialist energy efficiency partner, Green made easy. The package includes replacing incandescent light globes with energy efficient compact fluorescent light (CFL) globes and replacing inefficient showerheads in some areas with water saving ones.
